Our very own Moment To Shine!
We lined the streets.
We got rather excited even at seeing the official Olympic cars (finally we know what the vehicles will look like that get to drive in the private lanes aka “Olympic route network” that circle our local streets). The girls adore the mascots, so it was met with much excitement that they were sitting there in the car!
Then finally, along came the flame.
Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling. Do you feel my heart beating? …
Yup, it’s burning: an olympic eternal flame!
It was surprising how I actually felt a bit emotional. Not like tears in your eyes emotional, but more like, wow, it’s really happening and it’s nearly here kinda emotional. I’m so pleased we got to see this once in a lifetime event alongside Grandma Tea, Papa Tea, Aunty C, Uncle G, and nephew Tea-1 & 2. I’m also very pleased it was followed by a major fish and chip pig-out! Yum!
Mister Flame, next time I see you you’ll be burning away in the stadium. AAAAARRRGGGGH!!! I CAN’T WAIT!

Awesome!! And the fish & chips!
Wow, Have you got tickets?
Yes we are very lucky! We will see canoe slalom, volleyball and athletics!
