Through The Eyes of Babes
What do you see here, in this image below? What do your adult eyes see? Can we assume the little people see things the same way? Er… Nope!
So, may I introduce the arrow that points to the tennis club, which is next door to Little Sis’s pre-school. We have walked past it together a million times before. It just so happened that this time, I mentioned the arrow as we scooted by.
“Have you seen this bobbly arrow?,” I asked Little Sis, “what do you think it’s made of?”
Innocently/stupidly I did just assume she would see the tennis balls for what they were. But of course she didn’t. She did not equate the arrow with the tennis club, and anyway, when has she actually studied a real tennis ball before? And so she replied:
“Kiwi fruit”.
Note to self: remember get down on their level and see life through their eyes…. It’s much more fun!
